I Read This Today:

"Morning," he says groggily as he grabs a cup out of the dishwasher. He walks over to the coffeepot and proceeds to pour coffee into the World's Greatest Dad cup.
"What do you think you're doing?" I ask him.
"Hey, you aren't the only one who had a bad night." Kel climbs onto a stool on the opposite side of the bar. "Fourth grade is rough. I had two ours of homework," he says as he brings the cup to his mouth.

For Your Enjoyment

It's been  a while. Here, have some jokes:

Q: What happened when the cow tried to jump over a barbed wire fence?
A: Udder destruction.

Yak yak yak ;)

Q: Why do gorillas have big nostrils?
A: Because they have big fingers.

Guffaw, guffaw!

Q: What do you call a donkey with ear muffs on?
A: Anything you want. He can't hear you.

Hee-haw, hee-haw! :D

Q: How do you stop a charging rhinoceros?
A: Take away his credit cards.

Tee-hee :)

Reguarding The Events of A4 on December 6

Dear Students in A4 Classes,
If you don't have Yearbook A4, you probably missed out on the best class period ever yesterday.
  • We had a three-way dance off for the Student Council page.
  • Justin FREAKED out.
  • Nobody wanted the FACs page (it was sad, but funny-no offense to the FACs department).
  • And hilarity was infused throughout the entire hour+ we were in there.
So, I guess you kind of had to be there. Carter got a lot of it on video though, so maybe we'll see that in the future.

A Long, Long Time

That's how long it's been since I last posted, for real. Sorry. Anyway, life's been simple. I wrote three essays for English yesterday in 45 minutes. That was fun. Then I had no homework, but still stayed up until 1:00 am reading. And...I had thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. We're just going to eat pie on the real day. Oh what fun. :) I'm hoping I'll play some Final Fantasy, but who knows what will happen. Life is good. I have a $5,000/year scholarship for school next year. So...everyone's worrying about school, but I don't have to. That's cool. :D So maybe I'll actually post more often. But maybe not. Wish me luck with life, and good luck to you.

Love for YA

In case you weren't aware, I like books, a lot. Especially YA books.
So sometimes I enter giveaways, like this one:
Holy crap, that's awesome.
So here's why I like YA (Young Adult) books:
  • It's my age. The characters in most of the YA books I read are in high school, so it's kind of fun to read a different type of life than mine.
  • They're funny (usually), at least the ones I read are.
  • They're entertaining. You can travel anywhere with a book in your hand, without even leaving your home. It's wonderful.
  • Lots of them are romance, which I really like. Even if it might not seem like it sometimes.
Seriously though, there are so many reasons why, it would take forever to list them all. So, yay for YA! :D
So if you love books, and free books. You can go here. :)

Math, Yearbook, and Other Things I Did Yesterday

Yesterday was amazing!

After school, I went to a math competition. I love math. We had a 100 question test and 30 minutes to do as much as I can. It was so much fun!! :D PGHS had only 6 people there, and we took 3rd place out of 6 schools! Yay PG! I had the best score at PG (so I got a 2-liter bottle of Sunkist), and also the second highest score of the competition. I got 35 right out of the 45 I answered. That's 78%. The kid who had the highest score got 52 right! That's crazy! It made me feel special that I was second though. Also, Zac Brown won an iPod in the raffle, and I got an 8 GB flashdrive. It was so awesome!!

At about 6:20, I went to a yearbook party. It was fantastic! There were delicious nachos and chips & salsa from Los Hermanos. Oh my gosh, so good! It was a really funny and fun time. Some people were slightly injured (but not seriously, and just briefly), and I won the snort game (that was interesting), and I got dizzy on the swings. It was a really good night!

Unfortunately...I had to go home and let my sister inside the house at about 8:30. And then I had to do my Biology homework (memorizing leaves). I did watch the season premiere of Big Bang Theory, and the Series premiere of Elementary. That show is sooo cool! :D Sherlock Holmes is such a great, crazy character. It's wonderful, really.

The only really bad part about the night was the lack of sleep. I didn't actually end up going to bed until about 1:30, so I'm kind of tired. I've been doing bad this week with going to sleep anywhere before midnight. Thank goodness it's the weekend. I can finally sleep! :D

A Joke For You

Because it made me laugh. :) "A biologist, a physicist, and a mathematician were sitting in a street cafe watching the crowd. Across the street they saw a man and a woman entering a building. Ten minutes later they reappeared together with a third person. “They have multiplied,” said the biologist. “Oh no, an error in measurement,” the physicist sighed. “If exactly one person enters the building now, it will be empty again,” the mathematician concluded."

Lame Sauce

I have so much homework.
It's not so great.
AP English might kill me, and my feelings about Yearbook are a bit bipolar.
Plus, having two science classes in one year is never really a good idea.
And then there's statistics, which isn't overly difficult, but I'm not a huge fan.
At least I have radio and Seminary to make things a little bit more relaxed.
Psychology, too, a bit. It won't be too hard, but I will have homework.
So...hopefully I'll survive my senior year.

Biology

My AP Biology teacher this year is pretty cool. He's kind of got that mad scientist type look. It's great. Here's a little bit of wisdom from Van Djik:

Book Giveaway of Excitingness ;)

Psychology

One of my classes this year is Psychology. Acutally, it's just this semester. It should be pretty interesting. The teacher is Bayles and he's kind of crazy. I can't wait to see what shenanigans he gets into while messing with Newman. Here's a little taste of Bayles:
"I did a lot of things for cute girls. I studied Japanese for three years because of a cute girl. I took her to prom." -Bayles

First Day of School...Last Year

I just found this quote from last year.
Haha, Newman's the best.
Here you go:

"Everyone's like way more talented than I am. I'm like, 'I can, wear plaid.'" -Newman

Giveaway-ness :)

Giveaway on this blog. :)
Here's an...interesting book trailer:

School...And All That Jazz

Today, as you probably well know, was the first day of school.
I started off the day in a very crowded Statistics classroom.
It was pretty amazing though. There are so many great people in that class! :D
Anyway, I ended up with homework...
...Which I finished in Physics, my next class.
That class will be...interesting. Probably not too difficult, but kind of lame.
I don't really know anyone in there, but hopefully I'll survive.
From that class, I got a little bit of homework (although it was easy)...
...Which I finished at the beginning of AP English.
That will probably be my most difficult class.
I also got homework in that class (as well as "All By Myself" stuck in my head).
That work I finished at home.
I finished off the day in Yearbook. That class seems like it'll be fun.
It'll be work, but it will be worth it.
And for that class, I have a writing assignment.

So...I got assigned homework in all four of my classes.
I only have the Yearbook homework left, so I should do that.
Tomorrow I'll have AP Biology, Seminary, Radio 3, and Psychology.
It'll be slightly easier than today, but less friend-full.
I have Psychology with Matt Ricks, and I think Rachel Eldredge is in my Bio class.
But other than that...I might be lonely.
I'll survive though.

So wish me luck, with my senior year.
I certainly wish you luck with your (school year).

A Book Giveaway

Hey! There's a fun book giveaway here. So, I'm entering. Yay for the possibility of free stuff! :D

The Muppet Movie

I love that movie. It's so ridiculous. :)
Here's a wonderful quote from that movie-

Walter: You give people the greatest gift there is.
Kermit: Children?
Walter: Second greatest.
Kermit: Ice cream?
Walter: Third?
Kermit: ...Laughter?
Walter: You give people the third greatest gift.

Haha, dork. :P

48 Hours

That's how long I have left until my freedom is ripped away from me.
And by that, I mean school officially starts up.
I can't believe summer is this close to being over!!
Noooooooooooo!!
Anyway, sadness. I'm not ready for school work. :C

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure...

Is quite a silly movie.
A bunch of people from history are all here in the future.
I think my favorite is Sigmund Freud.
Here, read this:

Sigmund Freud: Why do you keep claiming I'm not Sigmund Freud?
Security Guard: Why do you keep asking those questions?
Sigmund Freud: Tell me about your mother...

18

My wonderful, dear friend Heather Armstrong turns 18 on Sunday.
Her party was this evening, and let me say: it was awesome.
We played games, ate cake, and she opened presents.
One of her presents was a pack of awkward promotional pens.
They were pretty great.
Also, I gave her a bag of Walmart: colored bubbles, candy, and an epic one of these:

And we played What If, which is always loads of fun.
Here are a couple of the best "what ifs"

What if Nathan and Jordan both found true love?
Then we'd all be doomed.

What if Austin were somehow more awesome?
It can't be, Jon's not dead.

What if Jon were president of the world?
That would be inappropriate, no one wants to see that.

What if Jordan were more like Jon?
Mmm...then I would want a bite because that's tasty.

What if you all survive high school just to find you have to do it again?
Well then, I'd have to shoot myself. I can't be exposed to that much concentrated evil.

And here are some of the quotes:
"I don't have 'am' on my phone. That kind of sounded bad..." -Jon
"I feel like I need to exorcise my phone like every three months." -Jon
Heather: Jon, you're having a baby!
Jon: Okay, I'm taking that out...
"Nikki violated the monnkey." -Jon
"Let's take all the cake and shove it on his windshield." -Jon
"Jordan! It's Will Smith, I love you!" -Jon
"It's strong cheese, it's not for the weak of tongue." -Heather
"I thought your shirt said fajita on it!" -Jon
Jordan: What's the opposite of it?
Gines: Jordan.

Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged

It's this series on YouTube.
I was looking through some old stuff (a.k.a.) quotes from it.
They're great. :D
Here's one:
"Yu-Gi-Oh, where bad puns go to die." -Episode 7

I haven't watched it in quite a while.
I like it a lot though, and pretty soon I'll watch season 6.

Lassiter: No...

500

This is my 500th post.
How exciting is that? :D

Did you know that my very first post was entitled Harry Potter?
Pretty exciting, huh?
Not really actually, it was a pretty random post, with nothing really worth putting on the internet.
But still, that's how this all got started.

Did you know that when I started Blogging, I kind of hoped I would have many followers.
But...then I realized that most people I know don't care, or don't do stuff like this.
So then I started to pretend that nobody would ever read it.
But some people do, I guess.

Did you know that having a real follower (or two) makes me really happy.
I like the number that tells me that I have four.
(Even if one is a pair of freckles on my arm that I created an internet life for and one is something called Scholar Time).

So...500.
It's a pretty big number.

500 is...
  • 500 Days of Summer, a trippy, but fun movie.
  • The name of a card game. I think I've played it...but I'm not positive.
  • The number of middle names a girl has in a book that I own but have never read. Supposedly.
  • Approximately one and three hundred sixty-nine thousand eight hundred sixty-three millionths of a year. Or something like that.
  • Half of the thousand miles that The Proclaimers are going to walk to fall down at your door.
  • Quite possibly a legitimate sum of money on a single dollar bill.
  •

Silly Books :)

And The Other One...

Here's my other favorite quote from the book My Unfair Godmother. :)

Hudson: And this is our son, Stetson.
Tansy: We should at least choose a name that works in the time period. Edward, or maybe Jacob.
Hudson: We are not naming our son after Twilight characters.
Tansy: They're older names. I can't help it if they're also good looking fictional guys.
Hudson: Women. (Then to the baby) Don't worry, I won't let her name you after a vampire.

My Unfair Godmother

It's a book, an amazing book.
Basically, the godmother fails at her job of godmotherly-ness, and the girl and the guy (who didn't really like each other very much before all the crazy godmother-interferred stuff happened) end up sent back in time and can't go back until the girl's "wish" is fulfilled. So, it's pretty dang entertaining. :)
This is one of my favorite quotes from it:
(An explanation: there's a baby, because the fairy godmother brought it there, they're pretending it's theirs, because it would be hard to explain the truth.)

Tansy: He likes you.
Hudson: That's because I fed him. Babies are like stray cats that way.
Tansy: Babies are not like stray cats.

A Crazy Week

This week has been...let's just say, interesting.
On Monday, of course, I awoke after about 2 1/2 hours of sleep in a boiling house.
Then I went home.
I ate some food, went to the gym, and watched some Drop Dead Diva.
And that afternoon/evening, I hung out with Beth for the first time in forever.
We watched The Muppet Movie, played on my phone, and ate some delicious slush.
Oh, also, we made this:
Babies
Rightfully
Assassinate
Illinorwegian
Ninja
S
Tuesday I woke up at seven fifteen to go put up flags. Oh joy.
Although, I had some delicious raspberry muffins. Om nom nom. And...I guess, I only put a couple up.
But still...
After that, I ate some french toast and then went golfing.
It was HOT. So of course, afterwards we went to Coldstone's. It was delicious.
I was pretty tired at that point, so I watched some more Drop Dead Diva.
At 6:30 I went to a barbecue at my brother and sister-in-law's house.
I ate hot dogs, drank homemade rootbeer, and ate delicious cookies.
I watched Drop Dead Diva (see the pattern forming?).
Wednesday morning was spent at the Fox Hollow golf course.
I awoke at 6:15 a.m. (so early) and was there by exactly 7.
My little sister was there too, which was kind of cool. And she had some great shots.
In the afternoon, I went to Barnes and Noble, for the first time in a month.
It was a really fun night, and when I got home I watched Drop Dead Diva.
Today I slept in until eleven. I watched Dark Knight Rises with Merkley and Josh at noon.
It's a disturbing movie, but still fun. I had a good time.
The evening was wrapped up with a short trip to our stake youth barbecue, for cheetos and watermelon.
Tomorrow I'll go to our family reunion where I'll remain until Sunday.
Wish me luck. ;)

Book Quote

"A home without books is a body without a soul."
-Marcus Tullius Cicero

Why is it that...

My two most awful (aka, lacking the most sleep) nights of sleep I can remember in the last year or so, are both at my brother's house? And that includes girls camp. At least there when I got no sleep one night it was intentional. Last night was horrible. I was sweating rivers, as my brother's house was about 83 degrees all night. Also, there were mosquitoes, which means I'm sporting about four new mosquito bites. And the water here tastes quite strange, so I've been thirsty since about midnight last night. Throw in some world class tossing-and-turning, not falling asleep until at least three thirty or four in the morning and then waking up at about six thirty for another twenty minutes or so of tossing-and-turning, and you've got my night. Oh, and I'm on a weird uncomfortable air mattress with a strange, smelly, sticky-feeling blanket on top of it, with a fly buzzing all around my head. Add it all up and I'm living my own personal type of hell. This is bad. The next time I'm thinking of sleeping over here, someone please talk ke out of it.

I Like This Show

This new show I've been watching, Drop Dead Diva, it's great. This model dies, but is returned to heaven in the body of an overweight lawyer. So, she deals with her life, and I enjoy watching it. Especially because of her guardian angel, Fred. He's my favorite. :) Anyway, in this episode I watched today, they quoted Shakespeare. And I actually saw this quotation at the Shakespeare festival in Cedar City. So, here you go, for the quote of the day:
"First thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."

Freaking Out Now

Oh, My Gosh!

I am soooooo happy right now!! :D
I just got back from the best musical ever!
Les Miserables!

It was soooooo great. The actors' voices were strong, and the flow was fantastic.
Although...when Pleasant Grove performed it, Javert's suicide was more dramatic.
But it was still incredible and so much fun to watch!
This was my fifth time seeing the play, which was wonderful.
One of my favorite things was the live guitar during Drink With Me.
So cool.

It's been a fantastic night!

A Girl Named Digit

Well, recently I read this book called A Girl Named Digit. It was really funny, and every chapter began with a bumper sticker phrase. So the next few quotes will be some of those. Today's is:
"Don't call me infantile you stinkybutt poophead."
So there you go.

One of My Most Favoritest People...

This is Beth. Basically, she one of the most awesome people in the entire world. She's smart, funny, and she plays the flute like a pro. She goes to Timpanogos High School, so I don't get to see her a lot, but she's still FLIPPIN' EPIC. She liked to make delicious food like cake balls, potatoes, and bacon-based deliciousness. She knows all sorts of crazy random plays and musicals. She's one of my best friends.
So,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!!!!

Theater :)

We just got back from our first play in Cedar City.
Oh yes, it was funny. ;)
We watched The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Basically, everyone is messing with this one fat guy who's full of himself.
And there's a forbidden romance between the daughter of one family and another young man.
While her father is backing one suitor, and her mother another.
Oh, what good fun.
So...I liked it. Not as much as I will Les Miserables!
Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow! :D
Goodnight.

Shakespeare

Tonight were going to seenour first play at the Shakespeare festival. We'll actually be leaving soon. We're seeing The Merry Wives of Windsor. So, I'm pretty excited. :D Anyway, that's about it. Yay for plays!! :)

Something, that can only be described with pictures.
A picture is worth a thousand words, you know.

We made it. I am right now, blogging to you from the couch in my aunt and uncle's hours in Las Vegas, Nevada, how exciting. Tomorrow we're hitting the outlet malls and swap meets. Soon I will be slightly poorer and in possession of some exciting new things. Anyway, that's about it. The six plus hours of driving were worth it...I think. Goodnight! (In a few more hours)

I'm actually posting this on the 13th, but it's for the 12th. So...here you go anyway, with the time-mark of the 12th.
"Cleaning is just putting stuff in less obvious places."

Yesterday...

I woke up yesterday morning at 7:15 after about 5 hours of sleep.
Great start. :P
I went to Fox Hollow golf course for my first golf-experience of the summer.
I hit some good balls! :D Even though it was extremely hot...
Although now I'm extra sore.

After that, I played Final Fantasy for a while and then read until 4,
When I went to go boating for Young Women's.
It was a pretty good evening.
I rode on a tube twice.
I ate some delicious fruit and whatnot.

Anway, it was a good day.

Also...I am really excited for our trip this weekend.
First, Las Vegas. For cheap shopping and cousins-visiting.
Then, Ceadar City. For play watching and Les Miserables enthusing.
I can't wait!! We leave tomorrow. :)

Passage

AP test scores are in.
Drumroll please................................

Tada!
Well, I would have a picture of the score report, bit I'm kind of feeling lazy.
Plus, that's a little harder to do on an iPad.
So, I'll just tell you.

AP US History:

3!
Which is good enough for me, and totally expected.

BC Calculus:

5!

This makes 3 AP tests I've passed so far.
Yay for cheap college credit! :D

Quote Lovin'

Here's your second official Quote of the Day (the previous one having been meant for the 6th of July...I was a little late posting it, but I was still thinking in that time frame. I mean, new days don't start until after sleep ;D)
Anyway, it comes from a book called Love and Peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson.
I burst out laughing when I read it.
Enjoy.

"I think miniature ponies only think about rainbows." -Murphy

Quote of the Day

I've beent thinking about quotes recently.
I really like them. Mostly the funny ones.
I have a lot of them, so now I will share them.
Hopefully one a day, unless I get busy.
We'll see how this goes...
Here's one to start off with:
The Bermudez Triangle is...

Nina Bermudez, who TiVos every episode of Trading Spaces, because watching people rip down bad decorations soothes her.

Avery Dekker, who worships Jack Black but has learned to play Billy Joel's "Piano Man" by heart just so she can hate it in detail.

Melanie Forrest (a.k.a. Mel), who inspires guys to develop instantaneous, epic crushes--the kind that cause them to want to iron their clothes and listen to the lyrics of slow songs.

(This comes from a book called The Bermudez Triangle. Not a book that interests me into reading it, but one that had a really awesome description that almost made me want to read it.)

Wow...

So I guess it's been a while since I last posted.
Like, 2 1/2 weeks.

Not a ton of stuff has happened in that time, I think.
I went to girls' camp.
That was kind of fun, aside from the smelliness, the heat, and the general discomfort.
Oh, also the dirtiness.
Also, I've read quite a bit.
Mmmmm...books. :D
I haven't really driven a lot though.
That's been nice.
I've played a lot of Mario.
I like Mario. :) Especially when I can save-and-load and make it nearly impossible to fail.
Huzzah for being bad at computer games! :D

You know what I realized, though?
My school schedule next year is kind of perfect for golf season.
I have Yearbook A4 (a.k.a. Carter's class, so that wouldn't matter to miss),
Seminary B4 (Which is sad to miss, but not bad home/classwork-wise),
Radio B3 (Which will never be much of a problem to miss),
And...English A3, which will/would be kind of bad to miss, but not the worst.
At least I have people I know in that class, so if I missed stuff for it, I could know what that stuff was.
Anyway, that kind of made me happy. :D

Oh yeah, so...my little sister is taking care of my cousin's hedgehog.
It's really loud, especially at night.
Also, not really that exciting of a pet, but whatever.

Well, I'm gonna go eat a BLT.
Mmmmm...midnight snack. Om nom nom. (Or, you know, 2 in the morning snack)

Farewell, dear friends.
Hopefully it won't be 2 1/2 more weeks until I blog again.

If you haven't already checked them out, do it.

Lots of Gaming

In the last twenty-six hours or so, I've played approximately thirteen hours of Pokemon. That's a lot of Pokemon. And, it hurts my hand. I've practically beat the game though, so that's good. Crazy summer days.

Potatoes

I'm hungry. Fasting is hard. Sometime in the next hour I get potatoes though. Mmmm, potatoes. Om nom nom. Barnes and Noble is a good place. I like to go there and read an entire book. Like yesterday. Mmmmm, book. Good times. ;)

Finger Painting At 8

Yesterday was my eighth birthday. And I had an awesome party. And...someday I shall tell you about it. Today is not yet that day.

Finished

I'm finished with my junior year. And I'm finished with band. Hurray! I never have to perform in some dumb concert or anything ever again. That is all.

Yearbooks

They're kind of great, y'know? I got mine tonight. And then I spent a half an hour or something writing in Merkley's. I'm still not done yet. But it's gonna be epic. :D

Two Truths and a Lie

I was thinking the other night,
About the game two truths and a lie.

I'd have to say that if I played that game sometime in the near future, these would be my things:

  • I was baptized when I was seven.
  • I've had 3 brothers graduate and never been to a graduation.
  • The scariest movie I've ever seen is The Mummy.
So, my two truths would be the first and the third.
And...the second would be my lie.
Unless I played it sometime before Tuesday.
Because then it would be true.
(Stupid band...)

The Last Day

How great is it to end your school year with a class like radio?
I'll tell you, it's pretty great. :)
You don't have to stress or anything like that.
And...you get some delicious candy.
You have some laughs, and then watch Ghost Busters.
The end. :D

Golf, Summer Time, and 100%

Today was our golf banquet. Just barely, actually. It was good. Carter made some more good food. :) So...golf season is officially over. Crazy!! Also, summer is approaching. I can't wait to be able to sleep in every day! Huzzah! :D No more school, assignments, and I actually might hang out with my friends. Soon. My birthday is in 10 days. It's gonna be epic! I'm turning 8. ;) And finally, the 100% No, it's not the score I think I got on the AP test or anything like that. But it is the score I got on my English CRT. Because I somehow managed to not mess anything up on that test. It's kind of cool... Even if that test is kind of a joke. Anyway...that's about it for now. Bye. :D

Band...eww...

Thursday was the band concert.
Gross.
But we survived, so...that's okay I guess.
The trombones tried to create a double piggy back ride
(Unsuccessfully)
I wore my blue shoes again. (Like I did at state)
 Merkley gazed adoringly at Kirsten
 Haha, that was funny. ;)
So...it was a good evening...before the concert. :P
And it was my last!!
I never have to play again!! (Other than graduation, but...I'll survive)
